It’s that time again. Meet our June Employee & Ref of the Month. 🌟

𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵: 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘆
This month we’re celebrating Brittany, and honestly... where do we even start? 👏🏽

Originally from Harford County, Maryland, Brittany made the move to Wilmington about a year and a half ago and fully embraced the coastal life. If she’s not working, there’s a solid chance she’s at the beach soaking up the sun.

When she’s not hanging with her giant four-legged best friend (her Great Dane 🐾), Brittany also works with the New Hanover County School System, making an impact both inside and outside of Bill’s.

Fun fact: she’s a HUGE true crime junkie. Need a documentary rec, a podcast deep dive, or a suspiciously detailed murder mystery timeline... she’s your person.

And now for the exciting news... Brittany is expecting her first child this fall! 🍼💛 We are so excited for her and can’t wait to watch her step into this next chapter.

Brittany, thank you for the hard work, the positive energy, and for being such a wonderful part of this team. We’re lucky to have you. ✨

Ava is an angel. And for what it’s worth, she’s also our June Referee of the Month.

Most of you might not know Ava. Due to her perfect grades and being a soccer phenom, she’s only worked Sundays over the past two years. But the growth we’ve watched... from a shy fifteen-year-old officiating Sunday Funday League to a rising senior with a quiet confidence and a smile that has the gravity of the Mona Lisa.

We aim to have every employee leave this place as a better version of themselves. But sometimes you get lucky, and someone walks in and raises the whole operation. It’s a blessing when it happens... hence, “Ava is an angel.” 😇

Now you know why players are loyal to Sunday League.
Congratulations, Ava. You deserve every bit of this. 👏🏽

This one is a big one…help us celebrate David Atkinson as our Employee of the Month! 👏

David has been a part of the Capt’n Bill’s family for 9 years, and in that time, he’s done way more than just work shifts. He’s been a steady presence, a great teammate, and someone who’s helped shape the fun, welcoming culture we’re all so proud of.

Now, David is off to take on an incredible next chapter. He’s accepted a position at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, where he’ll be working as a nurse in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Residency (yeah…casual hero stuff 💪❤️).

While he says he’ll miss the friendly, welcoming vibe here the most, we know he’s going to bring that same energy wherever he goes. And knowing David, he’s not just stepping out of his comfort zone, he’s about to absolutely thrive in it.

David, we’re beyond proud of you. Thank you for 9 amazing years, and for being such a huge part of what makes this place special. Greensboro is lucky to have you…just don’t forget about us! 🍻

Reid arrived at Capt’n Bill’s a wee lad, dropping in on the Friday Kid’s Clinic with a dream in his heart and $10 in his pocket. BONKERS! Four years later he is an open level player, one of the top high school players in the state, continually crushes in league, and has been a staff and player favorite going on three years. He should be an inspiration to any young person that wants to start playing! Have a good attitude, play a lot of volleyball with your friends, grow up to be like Reid.

He will be graduating soon and moving on to college, but I have a feeling you will see him around CB’s quite a bit this Summer. So when you see him on the court…keep those hands up….and give him some props for bringing so much to what we have here at Capt’n Bill’s.

Off the clock you’ll find him thrifting for hidden gems, hitting the beach, or dialing in his disc golf game. Reliable, easygoing, and always first to jump in. That’s Henry.

Since day one, she’s been the kind of person both staff and players just want to be around. It’s the smile, sure, but it’s more than that. She gets it. She understands that Bill’s is about the people.

Outside the courts, Leah is into photography, a proud Kappa Delta member, and currently down in Florida taking the swim test at Sea World to land a job after she graduates this May 🐬. Lucky dolphins.

With spring in bloom and graduation around the corner, it felt right to spotlight one of the most beautiful flowers in our Bill’s family while we still can. Leah, you are one of a kind. 🌸
